The smartfilm is a glued product. There is a layer of PET protective film on both sides(we called SKC, Mitsubishi or Toray), and the glue is in the middle. (A combination of glue and liquid crystal) Why do we need to use special glass glue/silicon?

The production process of glass glue: deacidification, deenzyme and dealcoholization. In principle, the raw glue produced by these three processes will have no problems 100%. Now in the market, in order to reduce the cost of glass glue, the price ranges from a few dollor to dozens of dollor. The glass glue is essentially a cost difference. Why do they do this? It is because some people want to reduce costs to make profits. However, the quality of products that rely on low prices to make profits will not be very high, because they have to pursue lower costs. Cost, how to reduce costs? These manufacturers will add talc powder into the silica gel. After doping the talc powder, in order to ensure the fluidity of the silica gel, a solvent needs to be added. The solvent will increase the fluidity of the silica gel doped with talc powder, but the solvent will make the middle part of the smart film That layer of glue redissolves, causing the edges to become transparent,

Principles to choose silicon :

First, the smartfilm requires that the organic solvent must not exceed the standard, and it is best to have no organic solvent. Normal high-quality silica gel does not contain any organic solvent.

Second, it is required that the glass glue must be neutral glass glue. If these two requirements are met, then the glass glue will not cause problems on the dimming film.

Third, the reason why we set a standard for glass glue for customers is because it is difficult for customers to find the most suitable and safe glass glue according to the correct standards.

Fourth, the shrinkage of the glass glue. In many projects, patterns appear after the glass glue is applied. This is not caused by corrosion, but by the shrinkage of the glass glue.

Fifth, Toshiba silica gel is currently acquired in China. When purchasing, you should pay attention to distinguishing the authenticity from the fake;
